Francis James Child
was born 2/1/1825 (d9/11/1896)
You know - the old singer/songwriter that wrote so many of those old
ballads as well as the major comic opera, "Il Pesceballo."
"Il Pesceballo," of course, was based on events in Boston which had given
rise to "The Lone Fish-Ball" by C.R. Storrs Willis
There was a man went up and down,
