An Official complaint is here addressed to the Board of Governors of the
International Folk Song Wroters' Union and Directorship (IFSWUD):
¯é®
Facts:
1. On August 11, 1993, the People's Republic of China announced that
some 400 mice in northwest China had rushed into the sea and
drowned themselves.
2. To the best of this poster's knowledge, no song has yet been
wrotten and published about this horrifying ecological tragedy.
Results:
3. To the best of this writer's knowledge, no international movement
has arisen to deal with the aftermath and tragic consequences; nor
any attempt to learn the causes of the disaster and to work towards
ensuring that in the future such tragedies are averted.
Causes:
4. The world community of song wroters seems to have failed in its job
as troubadour and/or protestor and/or exposer and/or recorder of
vital events.
Proposed action:
5. IFSWUD should issue an immediate advisory to the entire membership
that a selection of songs should be wrotten AT ONCE. It should be
made clear that failure to comply might place the member's standing
at risk.
Proposed sanctions.
6. If, after a reasonable period of time, such songs are not produced,
the entire membership should be expelled from the Union.
