Happy Birthday!
9/7/1838: Grace Darling and her lighthouse-keeper father heroically
rescued survivors in high seas
The Forfarshire steamer she went on a rock.
To pieces she flew while her crew fell a-weeping
And some to the bottom in death went so cold
Their shrieks and their cries reached the ears of this lady
Grace Horsley Darling that maiden so bold.
...
Since she ventured her life on the terrible ocean
Her name should be written in letters of gold
To remember Grace Darling that gallant young lady
Grace Horsley Darling that maiden so bold.
